Just in time....

Last week we were lucky enough to be just in time to see some of the 'Go Elephants!' display in Norwich. It took a good half an hour to convince Pickle to even look at one of them as she has a strong fear of models/statues. Eventually she loved them and was the first to point them out.
For the last 2 months there have been 54 of these elephants hidden around the city.
They have been designed by different artists and will be auctioned off later this month. The money raised will go to the Born Free Foundation and CLIC Sargent charities.

This is just a few of the ones we found and there were many more we didn't find at all!

These are great-my favourite is the recycling one. Much nicer to look at that than those nasty wheelie bins. Now do you think the council will take the idea and run with it? They wouldn't even have to be green-they could be brightly decorated like the others. Any councillors out there???

The recycling elephant was not a working model unfortunately, but we did notice Norwich has seperate bins in the city for glass, plastic and paper. Bury council take note!

Those are so great. Misses E and M would have loved searching for them. :D

Jo- I could have spent all day searching for elephants, they were all round the city, at the hospital and football ground amongst others, but the shops were calling!

As an ardent elephant lover (oo dear, that sounds slightly suspect) I too visited Norwich and stroked a few of those displayed. I wondered what was to become of them after the event - I so wish I had some spare cash so that I could be the proud owner of one of them - sigh.

They are soooooo gorgeous. I have a think about elephants and I'm with Florriesmum on the recycling one. Do you remember the Pakenham elephants last year? They were gorgeous too ;-D
