An important step in Pickle's Life

Pickle is LOVING school (3 days in) and yesterday was given her first reading book.

Nowadays we don't have Janet and John books (I never did personally) or Dick, Dora, Fluff and Nip books (These were at my school) now we have Kipper, Biff, Chip and FLOPPY (a dog).

As you can see the plot is thrilling!! But seriously, it is amazing to listen to Pickle actually reading to me. I look forward to Floppy's next adventure.

Awwww...I love the Kipper books.
Chip loves ice-cream.

Mum and Dad love Kipper, Chip and Biff.
They all love Floppy.
Floppy loves Ice-Cream
Oh No (as Floppy eats all the ice-cream) ;-D

Hee hee. EVERY book ends 'oh floppy' or 'Mum was cross'.
Pickle has got another reading book already today! This one is called 'Who is it?'. She's getting more homework than her middle school sister!

Does anywhere still use Ladybird books? They are structured progressively from 0 - n years. All my children learned to read with them.

Some schools have phased out the Biff and Kipper books, I loved them, very funny.
This is a lovely Blog, by the way.
