Christmas is coming....

At last we have our tree, I was feeling very jealous after seeing 21st Century Mummy's tree on her blog when I hadn't got mine. So Picklesdad was sent into the forest to get ours.
Unfortunately it was pouring with rain, and the helpful gentleman who was wrapping the tree in the clever netting stuff, LAID THE TREE DOWN IN A PUDDLE!
Honestly what was he thinking of. The tree had to be hosed down outside before we could bring it in, making it even wetter, if that was possible.

Also Pickle has taken part in her school play, and YES it was a semi-traditional nativity play. There was a Mary, Joseph, Shepherds, Sheep, 3 Wise Men, Angels and some fantastic STARS!

Picklesdad worked extremely hard on Pickles costume and she was the only star with battery operated lights on her costume!
Please note the brilliant gold stars which were my contribution to the ensemble.

Pickle sang all the songs beautifully and didn't even slip into Old MacDonald during Jingle Bells like she usually does.

"Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle all the way,
Oh, McDonald had a farm......."

It's easily done!

LOL, silly man putting your tree in a puddle!

What a fantastic costume for Pickle! Not only is Picklesdad very clever for making the lights, you have managed to make un-wonky stars. Something I have never achieved.

I have the Christmas play to go to tomorrow morning. Little J is being an Angel, ROFL!

Beautiful tree, and fabulous costume. Christmas is coming....Bury Boy asked me last night if we had sent our cards yet. Don't you just love them??

Nice to see Christmas being celebrated, as opposed Winter Festival or something to appease the blasted PC brigade.

Forget to mention there was also a Santa and some reindeer, including a lovely Rudolph too!

Hi Jeremy, loved the interview with Russell on LSQtv.

Our house is tree & decoration free this year as we're going to be on holiday. It makes quite a change to not have to clear a space, and then have the tidying away to do afterwards.

Hoping that our holiday cottage may have a tree in it though!

We just had a week-end in Germany where Rudolph is a very common name. Every time we met one, or saw a street named after one, we started singing to ourselves, couldn't help it, Rudolph the red-nosed etc etc.
Also saw lots of shared-space schemes in operation, and all working very efficiently and safely. No need to worry about tripping over pavements after the compulsory gluwien sampling.

Hi Picklesmum - that's a beautiful Christmas tree. Worth waiting for indeed. Pickles costume is fabulous - top marks to the designer (Picklesdad take a bow).

On the Russell front - did you see him on the BBC4 programme last night, doing a homage to Jack Kerouac on a coast-to-coast drive in the United States? Worth watching. By the way, being the official Russell fan, if you hear of him passing through Bury do spill the beans, as I'd love to catch up with him for some official business!

BB - Did you write ANY cards yourself?? Typical man!

BB + 21st CM - Ah Glitter, how I love this time of year! Soon Pickle will be home with a bag of bald decorations and half a ton of glitter loose in the bottom which she will tip over the floor.

21st CM - Did I see Russell? OF COURSE I did. It was a fascinating, intellectual and moving documentary. The highlight for me being Russell dancing in just his pants and cowboy boots!
