PM - Re the Northgate Street crossing you mentioned on anothr blog. It is on my Division, and David's Ward. I agree that these crossings (all of them) are situated too close to corners. They are dangerous and there are other methods of traffic control available to Traffic Engineers today. Hopefully things will start to change now that my "Shared-Space" paper has been unanimously agreed at SCC last Monday.
Re the birthday - Pickles? on Sunday?
It is difficult to now where best to position the crossings, much further away from the corners and pedestrians won't bother with them and cross where it is unsafe. Can't win really.
Not Pickles birthday, but Picklessister! 10 today and making me feel old :(
Shared-Space doesn't have crossings. It has space where people, cars and cycles co-exist. It's a dificult concept to grasp, but I promise youit works! It has 30 years proven track record behind it.
Happy birthday to Picklessister. But I always say you are as old as the woman you feel. I think I will leave that one there! LOL!
Your blog keeps getting better and better! Your older articles are not as good as newer ones you have a lot more creativity and originality now keep it up!
