The earth moved......

...but I slept through it (insert own jokes here!)

Picklesdad however DID feel the earth (house) move. He was awake already mind you. If he had been asleep the whole house could have come down and he wouldn't be any the wiser!

He was reading a Tess Gerritsen book in bed and when he heard strange rumblings from the loft he was a little scared I think!

He bravely went and checked on the Pickles who were both still snoring in their respective beds. He came back to bed and frightened me that he thought there were birds in he loft again. (Blooming big birds to be confused with an earthquake mind you).

So did anyone else feel the earth move last night or did you all sleep through it like us Picklettes?

I'm really not sure if I felt it or not! I can remember at one point during the night hearing & feeling something rumbling, but at the time I thought it was an Apache Gunship passing by (not an uncommon event at home!!) No idea what time that was though so it could have been the quake.

YES! I certainly felt it. It was a HUGE relief to hear on the news that there had been an earthquake. I was wondering is maybe I was losing my mind when the entire house started shaking. We're in the East Midlands and so not too far from the epicentre in Lincolnshire. IJ slept through it thankfully.

It was a little disappointing to see that there was no evidence of it this morning though. Obviously I would not have wanted to see any damage to the house but perhaps a broken plant pot in the garden would have been exciting and would have added to the drama!

It was a typically British event, wasn't it? Japan etc. lose whole buildings in earthquakes. One man loses a few bricks from his chimney and the whole of England goes into meltdown! Wish I had been awake for it now.

My hubby (not BB!!! - BB2???) was up for what a man gets up for at 1when he goes to sleep early, and that woke me. Then I did feel the bed move and doors rattle. I thought the boiler was blowing up!!!!!!!!!!!

BG - so was it the earthquake you felt or some of BGhubby's bodily emissions?!
I am quite gutted to have slept through it now.
